As a PhD student at the University of Washington’s School of Environmental and Forest Sciences, Christina analyzes the embodied carbon footprints of sustainably-sourced mass timber products and buildings. Her specific area of focus is the end-of-life stage of buildings, working to calculate the embodied carbon of different waste management treatments for mass timber products to help implement them into a circular economy. She also works as a life cycle assessment consultant for WoodLife and the Consortium for Research on Renewable Industrial Materials (CORRIM). She joined the UW’s Center for International Trade of Forest Products (CINTRAFOR) lab as a Master’s student in 2020, and continued on as a PhD student and ARCS Foundation Scholar in 2022.
