Lake Flato Architects
Kerry Phillips has more than fifteen years of architectural experience spanning a wide range of project types and scales. After receiving her Bachelor of Architecture from Virginia Tech, she joined Lake Flato in 2012, where she has demonstrated excellence in designing vibrant, community-centered environments for civic, cultural, and higher education institutions.
Kerry has worked on four mass timber projects to date, managing the design of the University of Pennsylvania’s Amy Gutmann Hall—the tallest mass timber academic facility on the East Coast—as well as Montana State University’s Gianforte Hall, Trinity University’s Dicke Hall, and the new Clyde Company Headquarters near Salt Lake City. Her leadership on these technically complex, sustainability-driven projects reflects a deep understanding of how material innovation and collaborative design can advance both environmental performance and architectural expression.
An active voice in the growing field of timber design, Kerry has presented widely on mass timber at national conferences including Greenbuild, the Mass Timber+ Conference, and SCUP National. Her work continues to explore how design can connect people, place, and craft in meaningful and enduring ways.
