Pouria Bahmani

Dr. Pouria Bahmani is an Assistant Professor of Structural Engineering at Washington State University and the Technical Director of the ICC-accredited Structural Testing Laboratory within the Composite Materials and Engineering Center (CMEC). His research focuses on performance-based design, mass timber innovation, and modular construction, combining advanced modeling with large-scale testing to enhance the resilience and sustainability of modern structures. With experience spanning academia and industry, he has contributed to the design of high-rise and waterfront structures and leads research on hybrid mass timber and modular housing systems that advance affordability and reduce environmental impact. As a licensed Professional Engineer in several states, he is an active member of ASCE/SEI, AWC, and SEAW, and serves as a co-founding board member of the Washington Mass Timber Accelerator (WMTA), promoting innovation and collaboration in sustainable building technologies.
