Christian is a Lead Scientist at FPInnovations and Invited Professor at University Laval where his main research topics are fire safety engineering, performance-based fire design, fire resistance, reaction-to-fire and fire modelling. He is the author of numerous technical publications and research reports on fire performance of timber. Moreover, he is actively involved in several Canadian and international technical committees on fire tests, fire safety engineering and timber design, such as ISO, ULC, ASTM and CSA. He is currently the ISO TC 92 Fire Safety Canadian Mirror Committee Chair and Head of Canadian delegation at its sub-committee SC4 responsible for developing international standards on fire safety engineering, and the International Convenor of WG12 on the performance of structures in fire. Lastly, he is a regular member of international conferences’ scientific committees, such as the World Conference on Timber Engineering, Structures in Fire, Wood & Fire Safety, and Fire Safety of Façades.
