Throughout his nearly 20 years of structural engineering experience to date, Chris has demonstrated his passions for creative problem solving and sustainable design. While he designs in all materials and systems, for most of the past 10 years he has enjoyed working on projects featuring extensive mass timber structures, which beautifully meld sustainability and creativity.
His mass timber experience includes leading the design of the new Portland Airport Terminal hybrid mass timber roof, coordinating the design of the tallest mass timber building on the west coast which utilized new research on point-supported CLT systems, and engaging in project-specific testing to use CLT in new ways to create a unique tech campus lab building. He’s excited to continue helping to push forward elegant, low-carbon mass timber designs that owners and our communities can take pride in for generations.
