Jan is a philosopher by education (University of Nijmegen) and trade journalist by profession. For five years he has served as editor in chief of Het Houtblad, a magazine for engineers and architects with complete focus on woodbuilding. Jan started the Dutch National Wooden Building of the Year-award. And by order of the Dutch gouvernement, he wrote a comprehensive overview of the extreme quick developments around woodbuilding that were happening in The Netherlands at the time.
