Michael Scancarello

Michael has over 10 years as a Structural Engineer. He designs and analyzes various types of structures, performs structural investigations, and coordinates with other members of the design team in the creation of construction documents and construction administration services.
Michael has extensive experience and training in mass timber design, working both as structural engineer of record and designing connections working directly for mass timber fabricators. He enjoys working with both new construction and adaptive reuse or structural renovation projects for existing buildings.
He has an interest in the use of modern technologies and BIM, leveraging tools like VR to improve project workflows. He is also experienced in working with point clouds from data collection through to as-built modeling and structural investigations.
As a structural engineer, Michael is also passionate about making our built environment more sustainable and is an active participant in our sustainability community. He also serves as an SE2050 embodied carbon champion for our team.
