Reid has focused his career on evolving applications of mass timber structures and is considered a national leader in translating mass timber research into practice. He is also active in U.S. code development for both ASCE 7 (new building standard) and ASCE 41 (existing building standard). Reid has participated in multiple successful mass timber projects receiving grant funding from the U.S. Forest Service and Softwood Lumber Board including Wood Innovation Grants and the Tall Wood Building Prize Competition.
