Steve is a principal and lead design architect who leads the mass timber-focused studio at DLR Group, a 1,400-person, international multi-disciplinary design firm. His Chicago studio has completed seven mass timber office buildings with developer Hines and currently has over 1,500,000 sf of mass timber projects in progress. In addition, Steve’s team has won a grant from the USDA to embark on research aimed at mass timber use for hotels and multi-family projects.

Steve’s passion for integrative design and sustainability has driven his studio’s advancement of mass timber, focusing on elevating the human experience as much as reducing carbon.
