Katie is a Senior Associate at Magnusson Klemencic Associates whose work centers on cultural projects where structure shapes the visitor experience. She specializes in mass timber and has recently led structural design for the Multnomah County Library System’s new East County Library in Oregon, the Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library in North Dakota, and the T3 RiNo office building in Denver. Katie guides projects from first sketch through construction, aligning architectural intent with structural efficiency, embodied-carbon targets, schedule, and cost. She is known for hands-on collaboration and the rigor she brings to exposed structure. In design charrettes, she rolls up her sleeves, testing massing and materials, and refining details until they sing. She strives to create buildings that feel welcoming, tread lightly, and stand the test of time.
