Dr. Pete Stynoski is a Research Civil Engineer at the United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC) in Champaign, Illinois. He obtained a BS in Engineering Mechanics (2009), MS in Civil Engineering (2011), and PhD in Civil Engineering (2015) at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC).
Dr. Stynoski integrates materials science, civil engineering, mechanical engineering, and biological fields of study to enhance civil works, force protection, and installation resilience capabilities at all technology readiness levels. His focus areas include polymer composite infrastructure and mass timber technology development. His contributions were recognized by the Joint Civilian Service Commendation Award, the Civilian Service Achievement Medal, the SMART Scholar and Mentor of the Year Award, and the USACE Innovation of the Year Award.
