Dr. Breneman is a licensed Structural Engineer and Professional Engineer in the State of California, a PE in the State of Washington, and Senior Technical Director at WoodWorks. He received bachelor’s and master’s from the University of Florida and a doctorate from Stanford University. Dr. Breneman has structural engineering experience with design, seismic rehabilitation, and peer review of projects varying from single-family homes to high-rise hospitals. He is Past-President of the Structural Engineers Association of Central California, a member of the seismic subcommittee of ASCE 7-28, and active in current timber product and design standards including the PRG 320 CLT product standard, and AWCs Wood Design Standards Committee. At WoodWorks, he provides project support and education to professionals designing mass timber buildings and oversees the development of technical resources. Dr. Breneman was an author and the project manager of both the “CLT Diaphragm Design Guide following SDPWS 2021” and the “US Mass Timber Floor Vibration Design Guide”.
