James Corric
Pre-Construction and Innovation Manager
NZ Strong
Jimmy Corric is NZ Strong’s Pre-Construction & Innovation Manager and one of New Zealand’s loudest advocates for smarter, more predictable building. With over 20 years in the industry, Jimmy’s career has spanned both sides of the supply chain — from his early modular delivery work with Stanley Construction to leading complex prefabricated projects such as Elam Hall (the largest modular building in the Southern Hemisphere at the time) and now Air New Zealand’s landmark Hangar 4.
He first joined the Hangar 4 project in 2018 while at XLam, delivering the mass-timber structure in a supply-and-install capacity before returning to NZ Strong to lead the project through to completion as main contractor. That journey gave him a rare, full-circle perspective — from factory floor to airside apron — on what it truly takes to deliver a structure of this scale and complexity.
Today, Jimmy champions off-site manufacturing, DfMA, and “kit-of-parts” thinking as tools to make construction faster, safer, and more sustainable — and he’s never shy about sharing the lessons learned when theory meets real-world weather, logistics, and design.
