Marty Brennan, AIA, WELL AP, is an architect and project performance lead at ZGF helping clients meet and exceed their sustainability goals. He fosters a proactive, participatory environment and promotes quality design on a wide variety of projects including healthcare, workplace, and logistics. Marty manages the Embodied Carbon in Construction (EC3) pilot at ZGF and is a contributing reviewer to (ASHRAE RP-1929) evaluating life cycle assessment tools. Marty takes an all-of-the-above approach to carbon accounting to advance improved outcomes in design, specification, procurement, construction, and public health. This passion crosses multiple disciplines, from luminaires to mass timber. Marty co-developed two open-source projects with the University of Washington’s Applied Research Consortium: UpStream Forestry Carbon & LCA Tool, and Lark Spectral Lighting.
