Mason Brandt

Mason Brandt, P.E. is the President and Principal Engineer of WoodCore Engineering, a consulting firm dedicated to the design of wood framing and mass timber structures. He provides strategic engineering leadership from early concept through construction, ensuring structural systems are efficient, code‑compliant, and constructible. Mason collaborates closely with architects, engineers, and builders to support delegated design, connection engineering, and seamless coordination of timber systems with other building trades.

For more than 21 years, Mason has also served his community as a volunteer firefighter and currently holds the rank of Assistant Chief of Planning in Mount Joy, Pennsylvania. In this role, he conducts pre‑incident surveys to identify potential hazards in existing facilities and performs code reviews for proposed developments. He has additionally served as a Pennsylvania Local Level Fire Instructor, teaching firefighters about building construction and related subjects. Mason is also a technical panel member for the UL Fire Safety Research Institute’s study on fire dynamics and firefighting tactics in multi‑story residential structures.

Through this combination of professional practice and public service, Mason brings a unique, informed perspective on how engineering, construction, and emergency response intersect to shape the built environment.
