Matt Smith joined Facebook 7 years ago as part of its Strategic Engineering and Design Group in the Infrastructure Data Center pillar. At the time, it was a small group of a dozen senior architects and engineers. Today, as Meta, the team has grown to 100 people. With over 15 years of experience in the Data Center industry, Matt leads building material research in its Engineering Lab in California, as well as defining new data center criteria. His current professional focus is on how Meta can modify its existing designs to help achieve the company’s Net Zero 2030 goals while maintaining or exceeding delivery of data center capacity.
