Melissa is a licensed Architect and Structural Engineer with over 20 years of experience at the intersection of design, engineering, sustainability, digital fabrication, and commercial real estate. Her cross-disciplinary background gives her a distinctive perspective on how design and material choices influence asset performance, market positioning, and long-term value creation.

She is the founder of Lumina Relay, an advisory firm connecting design innovation with commercial real estate strategy. Melissa’s leadership includes establishing the first national partnership between the wood industry and ULI, co-authoring the Mass Timber Business Case Studies, and contributing to industry thought leadership for Morningstar, Nuveen, and ULI. She is a frequent speaker at NAIOP I.CON and ULI national conferences, an active member of the ULI Sustainable Development Council (formerly Vice Chair) and the ULI Mass Timber Advisory Council.
